Still working flawlessly 3 years later. I purchased 1 of these several years ago and it really simplified the cobble job the DSL installation guy did. Now I am buying a second one to tie in my DSL lines from my newly finished basement. I cut out his mess and ran all my main floor Cat5 DSL lines to this patch panel. Then I used 24" patch cables to connect each to my 8 port Router Switch. The patch panels will allow me to select which eight jacks I want to make active through my router switch without rewiring. Makes my Furnace room wall look nice and neat without a huge rat's nest of cables.
Being as this is a patch panel, there's not too much to say about it. The punchdowns work just fine, and are capable of handling gigabit Ethernet. I've had my network up for a month using these.
We moved into a new office space that was already wired with CAT5. Not knowing the exact setup of office users, hardware placement, IP phone locations, etc., I decided to patch things into our routers and other hardware rather than directly connecting each termination. This definitely made the job quick and easy.
We purchased these 12 Port Patch Panels for our installs if clients do not request or wish to pay the higher price for Leviton. Quality similiar to Leviton at 1/3rd the price. No failures after 30 installs.
I have now purchased two of these (style) panels for both by home and my brothers. In both situations, mounting and wiring were simple tasks. I haven't had any problems with the panel popping out of the brackets, but I do agree with one reviewer the mounting bracket does feel a little weak. Overall: very satisfied and would quickly purchase again if needed.
